All Day Spaghetti Sauce
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms (6 oz)
1 red bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 28 oz cans crushed or diced tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
6 oz tomato paste
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
2 bay leaves
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp sugar
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Cook sausage, onion, mushrooms, bell pepper and garlic in olive oil about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink, then drain. Spoon sausage mixture into cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
